Jo\u00e3o Pedro era um menino negro, de 14 anos, que brincava com primos e amigos dentro de casa. Jo\u00e3o Pedro tinha planos e sonhos para o seu futuro, que foram interrompidos de forma violenta por agentes policiais, gerando tristeza, indigna\u00e7\u00e3o e revolta em sua fam\u00edlia e em todos aqueles que acreditam e lutam por uma sociedade mais justa, mais igualit\u00e1ria e mais segura para todos e todas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lamentamos e nos indignamos com as mortes de Jo\u00e3o Pedro, George Floyd e das milhares de pessoas negras que v\u00eam perdendo suas vidas ao longo dos anos, no Brasil e no mundo, por causa do racismo sistem\u00e1tico e estrutural, que atinge propor\u00e7\u00f5es pand\u00eamicas. Al\u00e9m dos casos mais expl\u00edcitos de viol\u00eancia policial, pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas, como as de sa\u00fade, educa\u00e7\u00e3o e moradia, tamb\u00e9m afetam de forma desigual a vida da popula\u00e7\u00e3o negra. No Brasil, o risco de morte por COVID-19 neste per\u00edodo de pandemia \u00e9 62% maior para pessoas negras [1]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O Laborat\u00f3rio Interagir [2]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, da Universidade Federal do Paran\u00e1, pesquisa e atua por meio de pr\u00e1ticas para a promo\u00e7\u00e3o da conviv\u00eancia em espa\u00e7os educacionais, para que se tornem cada vez mais seguros, onde todos e todas possam aprender e desenvolver seu potencial pleno. Para que todos e todas tenham o direito de crescer. E para isso, todos e todas precisam viver.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Por ser um fen\u00f4meno t\u00e3o presente em nossa sociedade, a discrimina\u00e7\u00e3o racial e seus efeitos no contexto educacional t\u00eam feito parte de muitas de nossas pesquisas e a\u00e7\u00f5es.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Verificamos, por exemplo, que experi\u00eancias de discrimina\u00e7\u00e3o no ambiente universit\u00e1rio, embora ainda pouco estudadas no Brasil [3]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, est\u00e3o associadas ao comportamento de isolamento e menor ajustamento, ainda que o suporte social de amigos e familiares possa atenuar essa rela\u00e7\u00e3o [4]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. No ensino m\u00e9dio brasileiro, verificamos que a discrimina\u00e7\u00e3o racial afeta o desempenho acad\u00eamico, tanto em n\u00edvel individual quanto da escola, mas que o efeito \u00e9 menor em escolas mais diversas e que adotam mais pr\u00e1ticas de educa\u00e7\u00e3o para a diversidade [5]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. E, embora a escola possa ampliar os danos do preconceito, fazendo com que estudantes negros e negras apresentem autoconceito cognitivo significativamente mais baixo que os demais estudantes [6]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, ela tamb\u00e9m pode ser um meio para aumentar o acesso \u00e0 justi\u00e7a e atenuar os efeitos da discrimina\u00e7\u00e3o [7]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, sendo fundamental na forma\u00e7\u00e3o das opini\u00f5es das crian\u00e7as sobre institui\u00e7\u00f5es sociais [8]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Em 2017, colaboramos com a realiza\u00e7\u00e3o da primeira turma do Pr\u00e9-P\u00f3s UFPR \u2013 Forma\u00e7\u00e3o Pr\u00e9-acad\u00eamica Afirma\u00e7\u00e3o na P\u00f3s-gradua\u00e7\u00e3o UFPR \u2013, com o objetivo de contribuir para maior equidade e diversidade no acesso a programas de mestrado e doutorado. No ano seguinte, desenvolvemos o curso de aperfei\u00e7oamento Aprendendo a Conviver [9], visando capacitar educadores para a preven\u00e7\u00e3o da viol\u00eancia, preconceito e discrimina\u00e7\u00e3o no ambiente escolar, a partir da perspectiva da educa\u00e7\u00e3o em direitos humanos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Portanto, assim como tantas outras pessoas que se revoltam com o racismo e toda forma de discrimina\u00e7\u00e3o, estamos inconformados. E com nossa indigna\u00e7\u00e3o, refor\u00e7amos nosso compromisso com o respeito \u00e0s diferen\u00e7as, a conviv\u00eancia e o desenvolvimento pleno de todas as pessoas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nas pr\u00f3ximas semanas, dentro da proposta do Programa DIGA \u2013 que busca promover rela\u00e7\u00f5es mais saud\u00e1veis nas escolas, fam\u00edlias e comunidades \u2013 estaremos disponibilizando planos de ensino voltados \u00e0 educa\u00e7\u00e3o para a diversidade. Lan\u00e7aremos, tamb\u00e9m, no portal UFPR Aberta [10]<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, o m\u00f3dulo \u201cBullying, racismo e discrimina\u00e7\u00e3o racial\u201d do curso Aprendendo a Conviver [10], para aprofundar a reflex\u00e3o e discuss\u00e3o sobre pr\u00e1ticas educacionais antirracistas. Al\u00e9m disso, estamos planejando o desenvolvimento de um projeto para a melhoria da conviv\u00eancia e do clima escolar por meio de dados de avalia\u00e7\u00e3o, focando na promo\u00e7\u00e3o da equidade racial. A educa\u00e7\u00e3o para a equidade racial pode contribuir para o acesso \u00e0 justi\u00e7a, e atenuar os efeitos devastadores do racismo. Por\u00e9m, a escola tamb\u00e9m pode exacerbar esses preju\u00edzos por meio de pr\u00e1ticas injustas e desiguais.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Neste momento marcado pela intensifica\u00e7\u00e3o de desafios e riscos para a popula\u00e7\u00e3o negra, todos n\u00f3s que trabalhamos na \u00e1rea da educa\u00e7\u00e3o precisamos pensar sobre nossas atitudes, nossas pr\u00e1ticas, nosso ensino e nossas pesquisas: afinal, estamos contribuindo para as mudan\u00e7as que a nossa sociedade precisa?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Grupo Interagir<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>Subscrevem este manifesto:<br \/><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Daiane S.
